Most dive watches fly under the radar. This one doesn't.
This Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean "Deep Brown" is one of the more distinctive executions in the Planet Ocean lineup and a reference that doesn't show up often.
The monochromatic brown ceramic case and dial make an immediate statement. Omega didn't deviate, everything from the 39.5mm case to the quilted rubber strap runs in the same deep, earthy brown. The only contrast comes from the warm Sedna gold accents throughout the case, bezel, and dial,, which adds warmth without breaking the cohesion of the design. It's a focused look that rewards attention.
The unidirectional bezel uses Omega's Ceragold construction, where liquid metal is fused directly into the ceramic to form the dive scale. The result is a surface that won't fade, chip, or wear through. It is functionally and visually permanent.
Inside is the Calibre 8800, a Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement that has cleared METAS certification for accuracy between 0 and +5 seconds per day and magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss. Twin barrels deliver a 60-hour power reserve. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, secured with Omega's Naiad Lock to keep the engravings properly oriented.
Water resistance is rated to 600 meters. Helium escape valve at 9 o'clock. Screw-down crown with crown guard. This is a fully capable dive watch dressed up in one of the more unusual color treatments in the segment.
If you want a serious diver that does something different on the wrist, and doesn't mind a little bling catching the light, this one is worth a close look.
Condition: This example will come in very good, used condition. There is no wear of note. The ceramic case and ceragold bezel ensure this piece will continue looking new for years to come. The watch is keeping excellent time according to the timegraph. It does not require a service at this time.
