The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer “Summer Blue” is a 43mm stainless steel worldtimer built around one of the most visually interesting dials Omega has produced in recent years.
The Summer Blue dial has Omega’s familiar vertical teak pattern found thoughout the Aqua Terra line, but the centerpiece is the world map in the middle of the watch. The map is laser-ablated onto a grade 5 titanium plate, surrounded by a 24-hour day/night ring and a city ring that allows you to read multiple time zones at a glance.
For a complication this involved, the watch is surprisingly easy to use. Local time is read normally, the date sits at 6 o’clock, and the worldtime display gives you a quick reference for major cities around the globe. Unlike some world time watches, it's all happening in real time. No manual adjustment of the bezel or calculations are necessary.
From a value standpoint, this is one of the more interesting ways to get into a true mechanical worldtimer from a major manufacture. You are getting a complicated in-house movement, a highly detailed dial, and a distinctive execution without stepping into the price territory of many comparable worldtime watches. This Summer Blue version is also much less common than the standard blue Worldtimer. It was introduced as part of Omega’s 75th anniversary Seamaster collection, and the combination of the gradient dial and world map gives it a very specific identity within the Aqua Terra lineup.
Condition
This will come in excellent, unworn condition. The factory protective sleeve is still in tact on the bracelet. There are no handling marks.
The watch is keeping excellent time on a timegrapher and does not require service at this time.
