This is the IWC Big Pilot “Le Petit Prince”, reference IW01002. This is the classic Big Pilot format: oversized, highly legible, and purpose-built. It is finished with the distinctive deep blue sunburst dial unique to the Le Petit Prince line.
At 46mm, this watch wears exactly as intended: large, commanding, and unmistakably aviation-inspired. The dial is clean and balanced, with oversized Arabic numerals, a prominent triangle at 12, and a power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock. The blue dial adds refinement without softening the tool-watch character.
Inside is the IWC Caliber 52110, an in-house automatic movement with Pellaton winding system and a 7-day (168-hour) power reserve. It’s a serious movement and one of the reasons the Big Pilot holds its reputation among collectors.
The watch is fitted on the original brown Santoni leather strap, which complements the dial well and keeps the watch grounded in its pilot-watch roots.
