The Glashütte Original Sixties is a simple three-hand watch, but there is a lot going on visually. To me, the dial is what makes this one.
The blue has a beautiful sunburst finish that changes dramatically depending on the light. In softer lighting it can look deep and muted, while direct light brings out a much brighter blue. The domed dial and crystal exaggerate that effect and give the entire face a depth that is difficult to capture in photos.
I also really like the proportions of this watch. The thin bezel leaves almost the entire front of the watch to the dial, while the curved case and lugs keep everything feeling elegant on the wrist. The stylized Arabic numerals at 3, 6, 9, and 12 add just enough vintage character without making the watch feel like a reproduction of something old.
The brown alligator strap works especially well with the blue dial. It's a combination that feels dressy without being overly formal, and I think it makes the Sixties considerably more versatile than a traditional black or white dress watch.
Through the exhibition caseback is a Glashütte Original manufacture automatic movement. The movement and finishing are a big part of the appeal here, but what I like most about this watch is that none of that comes at the expense of the design. From the front, it's simply a beautiful, clean three-hand watch.
On the wrist, it's thin, comfortable, and understated—but that dial keeps it from ever feeling boring.

Condition
Good, used condition. There is a minor ding on the 9:00 case side. (see photo) This does not take away from the watch on wrist. The dial, crystal, and strap are flawless. The watch is keeping excellent time on a timegrapher and does not require service at this time.
