Breitling SuperOcean Heritage II Chronograph B01 - AB0162121G1A1

The Breitling Superocean Heritage II B01 Chronograph is a great-looking watch in just about any configuration, but I think this silver and black combination is particularly sharp.

The dial is the highlight for me. The silver sunburst finish gives it plenty of texture, while the three black chronograph registers create a strong reverse-panda look. Add the black ceramic bezel and there is enough contrast to keep everything extremely legible despite having a lot of information on the dial.

I also really like how Breitling handled the case on the Heritage line. It's polished and noticeably more refined than the standard Superocean, but it still feels substantial on the wrist. The ceramic bezel adds a more modern touch while keeping the overall design clean.

The mesh bracelet might be my favorite part of the package. It fits the vintage-inspired design perfectly and gives the watch a completely different feel from a typical sports chronograph on an Oyster-style bracelet. It's comfortable, substantial, and unmistakably part of the Superocean Heritage look.

Inside is Breitling's manufacture B01 automatic chronograph movement. This is a column-wheel chronograph with a vertical clutch and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Beyond the specifications, the B01 is simply a nice movement to operate—the pushers have a crisp, positive action that makes the chronograph genuinely satisfying to use.

On the wrist, there is no mistaking this for a small watch, but I think the proportions work. The black bezel visually pulls everything together, and the mesh bracelet distributes the weight nicely. It has plenty of presence without having the overly aggressive feel of some larger Breitlings.

For me, this is one of those watches that gets the balance right: vintage-inspired without looking old, polished without feeling dressy, and a serious chronograph without looking like an instrument panel.

Condition
Very good, pre-owned condition. There is minor wear on the case from infrequent use. The dial, crystal, and bezel are flawless. The watch is keeping excellent time on a timegrapher and does not require service at this time.
